Alexis Von Kraven is an internationally acclaimed, powerhouse drummer, session musician, and music producer known for his jaw-dropping speed, technical precision, and electrifying stage presence. Based in Toronto, Canada, Alexis has built a formidable global reputation that spans across genres—ranging from the high-octane demands of progressive and extreme heavy metal to rock, pop, blues, and musical theatre.
With over three decades of professional experience, he has recorded dozens of albums, collaborated with more than 60 bands worldwide, and toured internationally. He is currently the driving rhythmic force behind the crushing thrash/power metal outfit Warmachine, the heavy theatrical horror-metal force Eternal Halloween, and his own dark, progressive metal solo project, Von Kraven. He has also collaborated in the past with bands like the Los Angeles-based hard rock supergroup Hollywood Monsters, the Canadian classic rock/heavy metal band Moxy, progressive metal group Operus, and hard rockers Heavens Fire.
Recognized for his striking performance visual—often sporting a signature skull mask—Alexis has showcased his virtuosity at prestigious global events, including Canada's Muhtadi International Drum Festival and the Seoul Drum Festival in South Korea. A highly respected educator and member of the Professional Drum Teachers Guild, he continues to push the boundaries of modern percussion while inspiring the next generation of players.

Influences
"I’ve never believed in sticking to one lane. My speed and symphonic structure come straight from the metal I grew up on—bands like Helloween, Angra, Symphony X, Edguy, Nocturnal Rites, and Testament. But to really master the instrument, you have to look outside your genre. I look at the blazing syncopation of Michel Camilo, the pocket of Toto, and the fusion dynamics of Spyro Gyra.
As far as drummers go, my style is a puzzle put together by my favorites. I wanted the technical independence of Thomas Lang, Jojo Mayer, and Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, mixed with the sheer heavy metal power of Gene Hoglan, Eloy Casagrande, and Mike Terrana. I look to Aquiles Priester for progressive phrasing, Matt Sorum for that rock-solid stadium groove, and Gerald Heyward and Eric Moore to bring in those mind-bending R&B and gospel chops.
