ABOUT

i freelance in the city (in addition to my day job, which is teaching music for the Toronto District School Board) and have been playing professionally for over 25 years in the U.K. and Canada (I'm 48), both with a click and without, on everything from rock, pop, latin, funk, jazz and all points in between (did my music undergrad at Humber and recently finished my Masters at York - but don't let this put you off!). Whatever you need in terms of tempos, drum parts, dynamics and creativity won't be a problem - I can be as flexible as you need me to be. In commercial music I'm very used to getting a set list, "doing my homework" and coming to a gig or rehearsal fully prepared to run the material, "top and tail" intros and endings if necessary and move on to the next song. For original material I'm used to generating multiple grooves and ideas for different sections, being as creative and flexible as possible in order to give the artist exactly what they're looking for.

I have acoustic and electronic kits (see below) my own (reliable) transport and all my own hair (but not all in the original colour, unfortunately...). I've also included links to the demo versions of original tracks I played on recently which may be useful:

and the following is a link to recent commercial gigs I've done with a GTA top 40 band:

I also don't "pencil in" gigs - once I commit to a date , I'm in and don't sub out. I'm certainly looking to gig as much as possible,.

It's hard to respond to an e-mail like this without seeming horribly self important, but, when asked, a bandleader who uses me regularly said that he did so because "(Adrian) can play anything, is reliable, sane, and is fun to be around". Hopefully that sounds like the type of person you're looking for .
