ABOUT

Hi! My names Chloe but my stage name is Aura - you can call me whichever! I’m a singer (mainly) looking to find a very open minded band when it comes to genres, combining genres and even making songs that don’t really fit into a genre! I have some music I would love to bring to life with live instruments like the one on my profile, and also continue creating music together! I would love to casually perform at local restaurants or other small venues. I play a bit of piano and bass guitar but am mainly self taught. I’m looking for a band with a drummer, bassist, guitar player and a keyboard/piano player. Other instruments like strings and horns are highly welcome!

Influences

I’m influenced by a lot of different genres of music and artists. As long as it’s good music I dig it! So I grew up listening to a lot of old jazz like Lewis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Was also surrounded by a lot of rock like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Billy Talent and Green Day. I remember hearing lots of older Adel stuff and some Black Eyed Peas and Justin Timberlake so a bit of pop as well. R&b was stuff like Boys 2 Men, Amy Whinehouse and I later got really into Erykah Badu, so neo soul, as well as Anderson Paak, which leads into some rap and hip hop. I’m definitely influenced by Kid Cudi. I started listening to a lot of Mick Jenkins and Larry June. I also like some softer music like Mac Demarco. Some really good world and instrumental stuff like Khruangbin, Bonobo and Fela Kuti are very inspiring. There are so many more I could list, and more genres!
