I'm looking to start an original rock band,. Although I want to do hard rock, I could be convinced to do metal or blues. I have a metric sh*t-ton of energy, and like to jump around alot and try to bring the crowd into my world even when I'm practicing. I'm dedicated, and I'm having trouble meeting people who are dedicated and willing to give and receive constructive advice and who are willing to practice.
I write alot of poetry and it's all in lyrics. If you're the kind of guitarist that has a riff/melody for every occasion, I'm sure that we can get something working.
My favorite way to write is to bring an idea to the table, and let everyone do their thing organically until we've got somethign semi-solid, then just do a singletrack of us jamming it out and then give everyone a copy to take home and play with. I'm not a fan of handing everyone sheet music and strict direction. I'm more likely to give you the rhythm progression i wrote on my guitar, then a vocal melody and an explanation of the kind of mood I was going for.
