Hello! My name is Ian Coll, and I am a freelance Producer and Music Coach out of Mississauga/Toronto. In addition to studying online through Berklee College of Music, I work as an independent music business professional. I provide services in audio recording, music coaching and I am also a session Drummer/Guitarist for hire. Please visit my Studio and Music Coach tabs above to learn more about these services.
In January 2013 I completed a four month Internship at Warner Music Canada. I was fortunate to be assigned to work in the Arts & Repertoire (A&R) department, primarily doing research on new bands, genres, music festivals, events & venue activity. I was able to learn extensively about what record labels look for in new bands and how they evaluate talent. I look forward to bringing these insights to my new projects.
In May of 2014, I completed a four month internship at Pirate Toronto, an award-winning Commercial Audio Production company. While at Pirate, I worked as a Casting Engineer, spending my time in the studio recording, editing and organizing casting auditions. I have logged an additional 250 hours+ of recording & production experience with GTA artists over the past 18 months.
In November of 2015, I secured a job with legendary Canadian rock band April Wine as their new Drum Tech for the 2016 touring season. I will be travelling and working on 35 shows between April and November across North America. I look forward to meeting and connecting in with other industry executives to continue expanding my personal network.
