Emerging onto the Windsor, Ontario music scene in 2012 Rocketships has already become a galvanizing presence locally and beyond. Originating from a town that gave rise to such Canadian musical powerhouses as The Tea Party and Shania Twain, Rocketships continues the tradition. Band members Bevan Bezaire (guitars, vocals) Kamil Chodziakiewicz (guitars), Dave Fletcher (guitars) Taylor Horne (bass) and Erik Gurney (drums) come together to create a new and dynamic sound. Selected to play the annual and immensely popular E3 Music Festival in Windsor, Rocketships were given the opportunity to open for the band Alexisonfire where they would win over a whole new fan base. Upon the debut cd’s release in February of 2012 it peaked the interest of local station 88.7 FM who would play the album initiating a flurry of requests for the powerful track ‘So Long’ and earning the band airplay on 95.1 The Rock. Playing to a packed house for their CD release party at Windsor’s famous rock bar ‘The Room’ Rocketships have amassed a fiercely dedicated fan base that continuously flood local radio stations requesting the band’s music and champion the band online.
The band are no strangers to hard work and have since produced videos for the songs ‘Unicorn’ and ‘The Line’ which are currently being considered for airplay on MuchMusic Toronto.
