We are a Hamilton-area original hard-rock/power-pop band with a lot to offer. We've had commercial radio and television exposure (Y108, CHTV), independent radio and print media (C101, CFMU, VIEW) exposure, and have made numerous festival appearances, including playing the main stage at the It's Your Festival and the Westside Concert Theatre. Our debut CD was released this past summer, and we have a small range of merchandise (shirts, stickers) to complement our CD's that we sell at shows. In the past 18 months, we've been invited to share the stage with Saga, The Illuminati, 54-40 and more.
Our goal is to continue to develop a local following through live performances - clubs, showcases, and festivals, etc. ( about 1-2x per month) - and media exposure, and to work towards placing our material in film and television. Our material is heavy guitar and vocal driven that is unapologetically melodic and accessible. Because we are all gainfully employed, we are not in a position to abandon everything to go on tour. We would like to begin work on a second album. For more information on us, please visit www.now-here-this.com and/or www.myspace.com/nowherethis.
As our new guitarist, you MUST be able to offer the following:
-proficient guitar skills - but not a virtuoso (we're a pop/rock based band, not Dream Theatre!)
-easy to get along with (we're all laid back)
-have good communication skills
-no ego - you play to suit the SONG first, not to showboat yourself as a prima donna
-willingness to share your existing ideas towards the creative process towards new material
-be able to support the band with simple backing vocals (one of the things that separates a mediocre basement band from a pro band is backing vocals!)
-your own transportation
-commit to practicing once a week (and knowing your parts!)
-attend practices and gigs in a clean state of mind. (sure, we'll have a beer or two at practices/gigs, but will not tolerate alcohol/substance abuse getting in the way of performance or demeanor)
In the spirit of no egos, if you want to share lead guitar duties and/or lead vocal duties, and are capable of doing so, that is fine with all of us.
As our new guitarist you would IDEALLY:
-be willing and able to play some lead guitar
-be mature - not necessarily in years, but in personal and musical presentation
-have a knowledge of the industry and a sense that there is a reason that the word 'business' appears in the phrase 'music business.'
If you are interested and suitable, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 289-440-3366 and ask for Chris. We look forward to hearing from you.

loads... from the Clash to Motorhead to Rush to Rage Against the Machine. Overall sound is sort of like the grittiness of Nirvana meets the melodic nature of Boston.
