ABOUT

I have a bunch of lyrics and roughed-out melodies that I'd like to flesh out into formal songs. My musical skills are limited, but I think there's potential in them. At least, it would be nice to get a tip or two on where to go.

HOWEVER, if you would kindly let me sit in and watch your jam/practice sessions, as my playing skills aren't great, I would like that as well.

I'm also an independent filmmaker. I have enough gear and skill in that department to make a sync-track music video for you as a non-member of your band, if you're looking for that.

Influences

They change with the years. Many of my songs were written in a singer/songwriter period, but my hope for them is something bigger, tougher, rougher sounding now. Yet sometimes I'm excited by smooth sounds too. A blend.

Lately, it's been:
Tarkus - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Seventh Son... - Iron Maiden
To Be Kind - Swans
David Bowie (1969) - David Bowie
Smile - Brian Wilson
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
Horses - Patti Smith
Bringing It All Back Home - Bob Dylan
Lulu - Lou Reed & Metallica
For Your Pleasure - Roxy Music
The Stooges - The Stooges
Tommy - The Who
When We All Fall Asleep... - Billie Eilish
Igor - Tyler The Creator
The Life of Pablo - Kanye West
Howlin' in the Moonlight - Howlin' Wolf
The Money Store - Death Grips

as well as:
"The Great Unknown" - Iron Maiden
"Supper's Ready" - Genesis
"I Know the End" - Phoebe Bridgers
"Heavy Duty / Defenders of the Faith" - Judas Priest
"Amazona" - Roxy Music
"Unchained Melody" - The Righteous Brothers
"Helpless" - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

I wouldn't call all these influences to bear on fleshing out my songs, but I'm certainly interested in a spectrum of different possibilities. It also shows my general taste.
