I am at the beginning of my journey and am trying to find musicians to connect with because I would like to learn how to perform live and I would like to practice with others rather than to backing tracks all alone. I have no performance experience outside of recitals in my teens for cello. I would love to use my voice and I am open to playing cello on songs as well if needed.

I love jazz and most any song written before 1950 - big band stuff. I also don't mind singing some pop/blues/other genres - I prefer not to trap myself in one genre. It may be easier to say what I am NOT interested in: rap/hip hop/heavy metal/hard rock. Other than that, I am open to trying new things.

I have uploaded a couple songs under the "Music" section in different styles in case you are interested in hearing my voice. (Note that I am singing to backing tracks, NOT playing all those parts myself.) I think inside I am a performer but I have never had given myself the chance to try. My ideal is to find like-minded musicians to jam with and eventually play some gigs locally. I am wiling to give this a good go and am really hoping to find people with a similar outlook on music to myself: do your best, have fun and act the part and play things that inspire both you and others.

Ella Fitzgerald and any female jazz singers out there, Dean Martin and that gang, Dinah Shore, Doris Day you get the point, the Beatles, more recent bands like Blue Rodeo, Cowboy Junkies, kd lang, Eurythmics, etc...

Instrument experience:

I have my cello (unplugged) and a few mics. No performance equipment to speak of. I am willing to invest in some equipment if I find some people to work with and things gel.
