The Wild Seven Hand Band is a band from Prince Albert Saskatchewan. The band plays an eclectic blend of classic rock, blues, funk, reggae, and practically any other genre they can get their hands on. The current stage of the band was formed at the end of 2010. The band consists of Vocalist/ Guitarist Tyler Shearer, Bassist/ Guitarist/ Keyboard player James Hrenyk, Drummer/Percussionist/ Guitarist Curtis Walter, and Guitarist Keegan Brodacki. The band was formed by James and Keegan, who had met on the bus some months prior. After playing in a short lived group together, Keegan contacted James about getting together to make music. James was more than willing, and he suggested his old friend Curtis for the position of drummer.
With the instrumental section locked down, all they needed was a singer. The first singer was a friend of Keegan’s who was occasionally a good singer when he wasn’t confronted by nerves. Eventually his lack of ambition was noted, along with a sour attitude, he didn’t last very long. The next singer that came in was another friend of Keegan’s. Despite stylistic clashes, James and Keegan thought her voice would be a good complement to the acoustic music the duo had worked on all summer. It started out nicely, but eventually her lack of ambition and priorities forced the band to look farther for a singer….
When all hope was lost, Tyler moved to town. After reaching Keegan through Kijijji, and several weeks of downtime, the band jammed with Tyler for the first time. His voice melded instantly. After messing around with the first letters of the band members’ last names, The Wild Seven Hand Band name was created. With a new singer, and a new name, The Wild Seven Hand Band got to work writing songs and keeping an eye out for any opportunities that might present themselves.
