ABOUT

Seeking dedicated musicians/performers to recreate the music and performance of the incomparable Cat Stevens. Peace Train will be the quintessential Cat Stevens tribute act anywhere.

Ideally you would be passionate about this style of music and have the dedication to faithfully recreate the live performance of Cat Stevens at a high level. This will be a true tribute act right down to the look, feel and outfits from Cat’s prime mid 70’s peak of his career.

Here is what we need to get it done:

Acoustic Guitar #2 (possibly some electric also) – This is the Alun Davies of the band. You would need top notch equipment and the ability to strum, fingerpick and sing harmony vocals. The ability to play mandolin or the desire to learn would be an asset for some songs but not a deal breaker.

Bass Guitar – Solid bass player with harmony vocals in tow. The need to be sensitive to this style of music is key in recreating the performances.

Drums/percussion – Solid drummer with no issues keeping time and the ability to be sensitive to the music and the desire to be faithful to recreating the songs. Vocals would be a huge asset here as well but not a deal breaker.

Piano/Keyboard – Both strong in piano as well as the ability and gear to recreate many other sounds such as strings, Wurlitzer and organ. Vocal harmonies would be required.

This would be the core band to start out to see if we can recreate the sounds and experience of Cat Stevens. Other musicians could be added if needed but the goal would be to keep it as a 5 piece band so if you are bringing multi instrumental abilities that is a plus.

The goal would be to form as soon as possible, work through the catalogue of songs, refine the live performance aspects, and then book some local gigs to iron out the live details and grow strong in the performance value. Once we feel we are at a high level of performance then I would be looking to perform this act 15-20 shows per year with reasonable travel involved as well.

If you think that this might be you and you have no issue (or ego) that would prevent you from maintaining a professional approach to this act then contact me and we will set up an audition.

Note that although a high level of musicianship is important, fit and compatibility as a unit will be more important. This is the key to developing quality shows.
Thanks everyone.
