Seeking super-cool female alternative/rock singer to join another female singer as TWO FRONT WOMEN for one band. Because let’s face, you need ‘an angle’ to be noticed in the competitive world of music. It helps too if you have the right ‘look’ and please be in your 20’s. I know that’s dodgy to say, but a band with two girl singers is going to be looked at.
Basically, my plan is this. I have instrumentals for a 3 song demo recorded. I would like to write the lyrics and record the vocals with another girl, so we can build off each other’s ideas and vocals. (Think: Linkin’ Park, but both singing rock). Once that’s done, I’d like to play some live shows. I already have a bassist and a guitarist (both male), so a drummer is the only thing I’m still working on. My influences include: Deftones, Nirvana, Metric, Hole, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, The Strokes, and Evanescence. We’re not going to be a crappy, gimmicky girl band. I want the focus to be on great lyrics and songwriting.
Other things to consider: you must be committed. Not someone who says they’ll do things, but someone who puts plans into action. And please be living in Toronto, or very close to it. The long-distance band thing always seems to fail.
