I'm a singer / song writer who was born and raised in Pictou , Nova Scotia and my whole family was musically inclinded . My father played the fiddle , mandolin and guitar , while my mother played the piano and had a beautiful voice . The rest of the family , each played some thing else and all of them sang . I started learning guitar , from my father , when I was seven and as the years went by , my playing advanced. I formed a band in high school and we played at different events , such as the local fair and outside concerts , where many local bands were featured . When I moved to Ontario , in 1991 , a friend and I got a group together and played for a number of years , in bars and outside concerts , throughout a number of places in Ontario and we were always well received . My writing began when I was 18 and hasn't stopped since . The styles that I write , are Country , Classic Rock and the type of Ballads that can be adapted to Many vains of music . I recently finished recording a CD of , some of , my original work and the responses that I've gotten on , both my writing and vocal ability , has been nothing but positive . I'm looking to form a group of musicians that would like to play bars and outside concerts , as well as , eventually , do some recording in the studio . Having someone , in the band who would enjoy some co - writing , would be an added bonus . Although , I have a wife and children , they're all aware of how important my music is to me and so , there would be no problem in getting together , at least , 2 or 3 times a week for a practice , before we step out into the forefront . I'm a musician that , when we went out each time , I would want us to sound the , absolute , best that we can . I'm certain that everyone out there agrees that one of the things that add a great deal of quality to a song , is great backup vocals and that's something that I'd like two of the other members to be able to do , as I know that I could provide it for them , when they were in the thick of things , belting out some lead vocals . So , I guess that's it . The only thing else , to say , is that I'm nice guy , who's been told that I'm easy to work , someone that you could count on and that I have a very " warped " sense of humor . lol ! ( mostly , that's what my wife says ! ) I hope to hear from a few people , as I'm , quite , looking forward to getting this off the ground. Take care , everybody .
