I am new to Toronto. I moved to Hamilton from the East Coast in 2007 and finally to Toronto in January 2009.
I've been playing professionally for over 15 years. My most successful acts have focussed on acoustic guitars, bass and three part vocal harmonies ala Great Big Sea or Crosby, Stills and Nash. As a solo performer, I can whip off over 500 tunes from pop/rock's history off the top of my head ranging from singer/songwriter, soul, blues and folk styles. I have all my own pro gear (speakers, stands, powered mixer, mics, etc) and have played hundreds of shows in one act or another throughout Canada. All adds up to thousands of hours of stage time behind me.
I am an acoustic guitar player exclusively and can fluently play most styles associated with the instrument. I'm a singer, very comfortable with crowds and keeping the show entertainng in between tunes. Although some of my favourite gigs involved a last minute line-up yelling out song titles and keys to each other, I prefer the approach of not just drilling til you get it right, but until you can't get it wrong.
I'm looking to get playing again in my new home of Toronto and so I'm looking for existing acts or musicians who sing. Good vocals and harmony is an absolute must for me. Although I'm looking to meet musicians of a similar experience level, I've also had good experiences with not so experienced singers but who were really talented and skilled.
