ABOUT

SO...... Since you have to pay in order to actually have the ability to contact people on here...😐 I'm just gonna throw my number up here . 204-869-2272!! If anything I've put on my profile sounds interesting just text me and we can see why fits. Maybe if more people see I've done this they will fallow my lead with the phone # thing cuz I suspect I may not be the only one who didn't realize we have to pay to communicate... Soooo uncool for a website geared towards broke ass struggling musicians!!!!
At the moment I've got a sets worth of original acoustic rock songs, but I'm really trying to put together a plugged in authentic rockband(focusing mainly on original material) or for the time being a bongo player willing to hit up the open mic scene this summer with the intention of finding more members to join up with.
That, or I would like to find an experienced band looking for a new vocalist who can sing at a high level and can contribute to song and lyrics writing.

Influences

I try to be influenced by all of the good things I hear in different bands and different styles of rock that I've heard and loved along the way. I guess since I'm trying to sell myself as a vocalist I'll focus on influential singers more then bands.

Nirvana was huge for me although I sound way more like Cornell then Kurt.

197-'s Aerosmith but Steven Tyler in particular before the sobriety and the 80's. (Also influence is strictly referring to vocal talent and technique. I am aware that Steven Tyler is giant tool.)

James Brown, before before sex machine haha although that ones not bad. But if you've ever heard some of his earlier stuff, "rain or shine" mine have one of the highest notes ever sung by a man at the time it was recorded. His slow ballads where you can tell its a woman singing are alway impressive.

I mean obviously Robert plant. Nuff said.

And then I'll throw in a curve ball with Johnny cash. Every Saturday my mom would throw on the Folsom prison album with "a boy named sue" and oh my god could I relate. Hahaha
Also went the opposite way then so many singers do now and pushed the limit of his low range. And he was well ahead of the nearest competition until the 90's came along an with em, a little band called the "Crash Test Dummies" . Anyone remember catching them at folk fest?? Neither do I really, lol I was like 8 maybe? So I do a little. But I digress....

So that's a few influences but that doesn't mean I really sound like any of them. It just means that their music got me passionate about rock!?! I don't know. I love talking music, so if your the same way we should jam!!
