Hey everyone, pleased to be a part of such a wicked site.
I'm 21 years old and have been involved with music for three years, along with dabbling for fun ever since I was a tiny child. My main proficiency is bass guitar and I had about a year's experience playing bass with a local punk band called Van Gohst [sic], who is still a gigging band quite familiar with the local circuit by now.
I'm also a decent hand at rhythm guitar (but cannot play lead for crap), and I'm a good singer, having done a lot of back-up singing in my prior band and being the god-damned star of karaoke night. I also have designs on writing but aside from some catchy rhythms and some pretentious poetry, I haven't yet written a full-fledged song. Right now I'm more or less in a spot where I haven't played music with others for nearly a year and am looking to get back in the groove. Ideally I'd like to jam with one or more laid-back guys (or girls!) whose tastes are at least somewhat similar to mine. If you're a band and you need an extra piece filled in, I'd be more than happy to come down to wherever it is you jam and have a little session to get acquainted. More than any other consideration, I have to be able to get along with people to play with them, so as long as you're not an uptight jerk, which of course you're not, shouldn't matter!
Pretty wide-reaching, but at the core I'm a punk rocker and I've always liked simple, driven music that really nails home what it wants to say without dancing around. I'm also a fan of old and new garage rock and musics inspired by foreign cultures. In fact, it's kind of a little dream of mine to front a band that fuses punk rock and world music (like gypsy, celtic, latin, jamaican/ska, etc.)
